Come Join Our Greek Myth Retreat with Jennifer Saint!
As I write this, there is just one place left available on The Book Room’s first writing retreat next week. A reminder for those who are reading about this for the first time, that Victoria Smith, author of HAGS, will be the first author to join us for my new series of writing retreats at The Rook Retreat in Amberley, West Sussex.
And so, with next week’s retreat almost all booked up, it’s time to turn our attention to June’s retreat.
This one promises to be extra special as we have Sunday Times Bestselling author and friend of The Book Room, Jennifer Saint joining us to talk everything Greek Myth.
Now you don’t have to have a work in progress to join us, you may just be an avid reader of fiction, and perhaps even Greek myth, but this retreat promises to be fascinating in both historical fiction and the art of storytelling.
Jennifer recently hosted a writing retreat in Athens which looked fabulous and so I’m delighted that she agreed to come and host a retreat on British soil for those who couldn’t make it all the way to Greece.
It was only a week ago that Jennifer stormed the Sunday Times Bestsellers charting at number one with her latest novel, ATALANTA, and this weekend it was still gracing the charts at number three.
Jennifer’s other two novels ARIADNE and ELEKTRA have both been bestsellers too.
Jennifer also put together a Greek Myth curation for The Book Room, and you can find out more here about the books she picked and why, and watch my interview with Jennifer below. Not only is Jennifer a bestselling author, but she is also visiting research fellow in the Classics Department at King’s College, London, so listening to her is always fascinating.
Here’s what Jennifer has to say about the retreat: “I'm so excited to be a guest author at The Book Room’s writing retreat at The Rook Retreat in June, exploring how we re-imagine mythology and bring ancient stories into contemporary writing.
“We'll discuss the powerful and compelling female figures of myth and how we can create their voices, diving deep into the distant past to find connections with our own lives.”
