I’m going to keep it brief today rather than write pages and pages, particularly as the most important thing I want to share with you is another Writers Recommend video.
I hope you enjoyed listening to cookery writer, Debora Robertson discussing her cookery book curation last week, and for those who missed it or who are new subscribers you can find it here, (scroll down to the bottom of that page to watch our YouTube interview).
In this video, you will hear Ian Winwood, author of Bodies – Life and Death in Music, talk about his favourite music books. These interviews are almost like a Desert Island Discs of books, where Ian talks about his own work, and why he loves the four books that he has picked.
These are:
• Clothes, Clothes, Clothes, Music, Music, Music, Boys, Boys, Boys by Viv Albertine
• Everybody Loves Our Town - A History of Grunge by Mark Yarm
After watching the video, you can always buy Ian’s entire curation, including his own book, here. These make lovely Christmas book hampers.
It is always nice to hear writers talking about their process, and I do tend to chip in with a few thoughts of my own, so, even if you are not buying, please do enjoy our chat, and let me know what you think in the comments.
Don’t forget, Tunbridge Wells readers, you have less than two weeks left to find me up at St John’s, popping up inside The Bloom Foundry, 55 St John’s Road, Tunbridge Wells, TN4 9TP until Christmas Eve. My opening hours are 10-5 Monday to Saturday, and 11-3 Sunday. Yes, I am open every day until Christmas now in my last push so please tell all your friends and family!
