The words I thought at times I would never type…. But, before I tell you more, I just want to say thank you to all who read my post yesterday and sent me orders to cheer me, or words of support, or popped into the shop, and I’m sorry if some of you were saddened to read it but here’s the thing, if I wasn’t honest with you about the lows as well as the highs of my bookshop journey, you wouldn’t trust me, you wouldn’t believe I was telling you the whole story, and so together we face the good times and the bad. But thank you to all who reached out.
Been looking through your books and like the sound of some, but I'm wary of anything post 1950s as so often littered with bad language, sex and politically correct themes. I love Hardy, Steinbeck, Conrad, Buchan, CP Snow, Forster, Eliot, Melville, Dickens, Greene, Wyndham, Shute, Lessing, Spark, Carre, etc. Do you have anything in your stock to recommend a confirmed prude like me or should I stick to charity shops?
OK Anna, thanks for the tip, will give it a try.

Your website is fantastic! Congratulations! I certainly hope you keep the Book Room going in the new year!
