Finally, I Have A Website!

The words I thought at times I would never type….

But, before I tell you more, I just want to say thank you to all who read my post yesterday and sent me orders to cheer me, or words of support, or popped into the shop, and I’m sorry if some of you were saddened to read it but here’s the thing, if I wasn’t honest with you about the lows as well as the highs of my bookshop journey, you wouldn’t trust me, you wouldn’t believe I was telling you the whole story, and so together we face the good times and the bad. But thank you to all who reached out.

But today, the news is good!

So yesterday my brilliant brother-in-law, Sam, put the final touches to my website which means… *drum roll* it is now LIVE!

So exciting!

Those of you who have been into the store and bought books will already know the website address as it’s printed on your lovely tote bags, but just as a reminder it is: thebookroom.uk

But, before I send you off to have a poke around, and I’m sure report back to me with any glitches (and there will be glitches, and I’m relying on you guys to be my guinea pigs), I want to do a little housekeeping and let you know exactly what I have going on there, because this is a little more than your average retail site and I think you’ll enjoy it.

So firstly, I want you to spend time browsing, and I don’t just mean the shelves of books for sale, but hang out there as you might do a real life bookstore.

Here, you will find a section about me and my story so far.

Here, you will find all the blogs that you have been reading (so this is mostly for the newbies not you seasoned subscribers, but new subscribers - hello! - will also find some of the posts from the beginning of my journey).

Here, you will find all my writing courses that I have been publishing over the last year or so, and not only that, but you can also read all the writing lessons from other authors that I published last year as part of my Twelve Days of Christmas Writing Advice. I think you’ll find them inspiring and thought-provoking, and super practical too.

And this is my very favourite bit, here is where you will find all the interviews that I have done with the brilliant writers who have put together curations for The Book Room. Each interview lasts around thirty minutes, and I will be releasing them all on my newsletter in podcast and transcript form (just in case you don’t want to sit and watch the videos), so don’t worry you don’t have to head straight there now.

The books on my virtual shelves reflect much of what I have in store, but I’ll be updating them each day, but if there is something specific you want and you can’t find it here is where you can drop me a line to organise you a custom order.

Oh, and one word about deliveries, obviously now I can post to anywhere in the UK, I will be using a 48-hour tracked delivery via the wholesaler, but with the current strikes and our best endeavours it might not always arrive within that time period, so all I can recommend is order early for Christmas.

Oh and one last thing, I’m going to close orders for book hampers next week, so if you have been tempted by them, please do get your order in soon as you’ve only got a few days left to decide.

And with that, I am going to go and have a lie down, another mission accomplished this week, the website is ready, so let’s see if it works!
